My fiesta finesse 1.3 died on me, and after about 2 weeks the ford dealer got back to me with this:-

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has been shorted/burnt out (possible misfire). needs to be replaced, but also need to replace Coil Pack incase existing Coil pack was damaged and will affect new PCM.

Does this make sense to anyone??? there gonna charge me £1000 to sort this (£500 parts, £500 6/7 hours labour)!!!

Hi Jay-C

A bit old thread now I know, however my 02 plate Fiesta finesse 1.3 has excalty this problem.

Mines done 42,000 miles. They also say £1000 to repair. I am contacting the ECU doctor as advised however was wondering how things went for you in the end?

Thanks, (am hoping this forum will mail you)

David.
