Ford ka engine stopping

Hi ,hope you can help me , the engine on my ford ka keeps stopping it happens when I rev it as the revs come down instead of ticking over she stops, or when I come to a junction and i use the engine to slow me down as i come to a standstill the engine stops hope you can help thanxx emmxx

Its highly likely to be the idle control valve. They get gummed up with oil and crap over the years. Can be cleaned out alot of the time without needing to replace.
Also check under the bonnet for any little air pipes around the manifold / air intake that may have come off or have holes in them
