Hi,
My gf has a v reg 1.3i ford ka, when she accelerates there seems to be a funny noise coming from the front end of the car, this happens only when she accelerates. any help would be great. :D

To diagnose from here without hearing the noise is impossible but some common faults are, exhaust pipe rattle, clutch thrust bearing rattle or driveshaft c.v joint wear.maybe you should let a mechanic listen to it.

And another common fault on them is the engine about to go bang!

They wasnt the best designed engines!
Got a KA out in the yard that i'm trying to get hold of a sensibly priced engine for :x
One of the most common faults that knacker the engines is using the wrong oil. Alot of people will just go to halfords, buy some 20/50 or whatever is cheap and whack it in....... supposed to be 5/30 or something stupidly thin!

Hi guys,
just to say cheers for the comments but the problem was that the tappets needed adjusting and the problem is now sorted!!!
