Ford Ka 2002 1.3i cutting out at junctions etc?

We have had a Ford Ka 2002 1.3i for about 8 years and always been reliable and mechanically sound, but recently has started cutting out when pull up at junctions etc? It restarts straight away and runs fine when moving. Any advice on the problem would be appreciated?

hello,sounds like the idle control valve is dirty or faulty,my need to remove and clean first with spraying carb cleaner through unit and replacing,think its on top of engine,small unit with multi plug with wires and bolted on when you remove it clean the holes you can see in unit,hope this helps
