Hi,

I am new to this site and hope there is someone out there that can give me some advice....?

I recently bought a 2002 Ford Mondeo Ghia X with a Duratorq engine. After about 5 minutes driving it cuts out and the engine management light (glow plug light) flashes. I then turn it off and after that it turns straight over again.

I have taken it down the local garage and it was connected to the computer that told me the camshaft sensor was inoperative. I changed it and it still happens...

the weird looking thing is that the wiring for the sensor that comes round the front of the engine has straight through cable crimps visable as if the wiring has been changed at some time and i now suspect someone has replaced the wires or extended them.

Does anyone know or could look at their mondeo what wire should go to what part of the sensor..??

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated....

I could get a photo of mine if anyone is interested in helping....

Jamie.

Hi, if the fault codes are now clear, the wiring is OK as far as going to the
correct connection on the sensor is concerned.

But you may be getting an intermittent fault/bad connection where the loom
was extended?

Keep in mind that a faulty camshaft sensor may also cause this problem.
