Hi Nikki,
Straight from a ford workshop Manual...
Do not empty the coolant expansion tank.
2. Remove the coolant expansion tank and lay it to one side.
3. Remove the wiper arms.
4. Remove the cowl grille.
Disconnect the hose from the windscreen washer jet.
5. Undo the bulkhead extension.
Remove eight bolts.
Pull the bulkhead extension forwards.
Note:
Plug the heater radiator and coolant pipes.
Note:
Do not mix the hoses up when fitting them (mark them if necessary).
6. Remove the heater water valve
1 Disconnect the plug from the heater water valve.
2 Disconnect the coolant hoses.
Install
7. Refit the components in the reverse order.
Vehicles built from 09/96 to 08/99
Note:
Only carry out steps 8 to 11 if there is a regular knocking noise coming from the facia crash padding.
8. Remove the factory plastic burr on the removed bulkhead extension.
1 Right-hand part of the bulkhead extension
2 Plastic burr
RHD vehicles only
Note:
The coolant hose must be routed below the connections on the heater regulating valve and around the refrigerant lines.
Note:
Prevent the radiator hose clamps from touching the bodywork.
10. Install a new coolant hose on the left-hand side.
All vehicles.
11. Install new heater control valve insulation.
12. Install the remaining components in reverse order.
13. Standard finishing operations.
Remove the protective covers.
Check the coolant level and correct as necessary.
Check the operation of the heater.

Removing the wiper arms...
Note:
The wiper linkage must be in park position.
3. Detach the wiper arms.
Fold up the plastic caps and undo the nuts two turns.
Fold back the wiper arms and release them from the taper by moving them sideways.
Remove the nuts and take off the wiper arms.
