Hi I am ripping out an old bathroom and have found a square nut sticking out through the floor. The only thing I can think this might be is gas unless you can tell me different?
But why would you have gas in the bathroom? The house is 1930's and this room is very small, probably too small to have ever been a bedroom.
If it is gas and it is still connected to the system I am quite happy to call a Corgie man out to deal with it, I wouldn't even begin to attempt to deal with it myself but is there any clever way I can tell if it is still live or just a dead leg as a friend said they found similar in their bathroom and just cut it out as it was redundant. I don't want to go to the expense of a Corgie man if it is just a bit of old pipe now.
Basically I am hoping you guys can tell me some clever tip of how to tell, can't imagine how you would check though.
Any help appreciated.
