Does anyone here supply free estimates if a customer does not own the property but is thinking of buying it?If someone calls me for such a job i advise them i wont do a free estimate as its for a property they do not own and as such they are not in a position to give me the work.I do supply a roof survey for £60 in such circumstances.

yep totaly agree with you on that i usually charge £50 for a roof survey its amazing how surprised people are though when you tell them exactly what your saying they seem to think they should get it for free

All professions are different though, in the 'dizzy' world of architecture its unheard of to charge for an initial site meeting whether the house is bought yet or otherwise.
