Front door lock

Help I have a problem with my front door lock. It is a relatively new pvc door with the handle that pushes upward, you can then lock the door.
My problem is that when the door is shut and I have pushed the handle upwards the door will not lock and I am unable to remove the key. However, when the door is ajar I can still push handle upward and also turn the key to lock and remove the key.

can anyone help please?

Normally caused by the door lock moving away from the keep, hot weather can cause it, should be adjustment on the hinge, movement as little as 2mm can cause the lock to bind.
