Not a bad shout about swapping the switches. And yeah driving me mental. Absolutely no pattern to it at all. Even tried jumping around upstairs to see if that triggered it

Think I might have figured it out. Hasn't tripped since yesterday morning. Just nipped upstairs, nothing on in house and it's just tripped. It is raining at the minute. Water somehow getting in and hanging around so even though it doesn't rain for a couple of days the water is still present. Need to try and figure out where it's coming from.

No outdoor lights at all. Had one when we first moved in 2008 but removed it shortly after, and that was mains powered. Definitely no signs of water ingress on the walls or ceiling.
It tripped within 30 mins of rain starting. Rain was hitting front of house so need get a ladder out and check the front. Still only downstairs lights affected
Random question but if it was water ingress wouldn't it constantly trip out, like refuse to trip in at all? It's been just over 2 hours and hasn't tripped since.

Well in that case I am buggered. I would not have a clue where to start with that. There hasn't been any strong winds here since last week, it's barely noticeable at the minute
Would it be worth taking light fittings down, 1 at a time, eg ceiling rose and checking for moisture/ingress?
Edit:I’ve just gone back over you’re photos and I don’t see any form of heating listed on your consumer unit (fuse box) - could it be linked to this wrongly?
