I have just moved into a property where in one of the bedrooms there is a fused connection unit with just a single switched socket connected to it.

Can I remove the connection unit? if not can I replace the single socket with a double?

it might be an idea to work out what the FCU is connected to in the first place?

Its certainly a non-standard layout for a bedroom socket, so i'd be wanting to know why its a non standard layout.

it might previously have had an off-peak storage radiator connected (they usually do not have plug sockets). Your consumer unit/fusebox may give some clues.
