Hi All, I have a vertical stone vent at the top of my gable end that allows air to pass through into the loft. During a recent storm, rainwater blew into this 'open' vent which went into the wall cavity and came out in my downstairs window lintel! My question is, is there no insert for these type of vents which allows airflow, but stops water? I've googled and haven't found anything. Thanks in advance:

What age is the house? I’d have thought that’s more a cosmetic feature rather than a required vent
