Hello. Looking for a bit of help with a UPVC window. Its an outward opening escape type (casement? awning?). Basically there is a half inch gap at the top where its supposed to touch the frame. Iv had a look at it and cant see how it adjusts. If anyone can give me some ideas how to adjust it Id be really grateful. Some pics:

Please note, some of these where taken landscape but have turned out wrong so tey are sideways. My apologies for this. The window opens vertically not sideways like it may appear!

Cheers

If its at the hinge end rather than the handle end then with a gap that big new hinges will be needed I'm afraid

Really?! That's not good news :/.

To be honest looking at it its probably not quite as bigger gap as I first thought. Perhaps more like 1cm or so. At the top of the window there is a metal knuckle on either side which pertridus higher than the top of the window. It looks as though the knuckle is supposed to move upwards as the window closes and come to rest in a bracket above the hinge, attached to the metal strip which the bracket attaches too would. If it rested in the bracket it would pull the window in towards the frame. It misses this bracket though which I think may be the issue.

There are screws which hold the bracket in the steel runner strips but they dont allow for repositioning unfortunately.

Which type of hinges? Are they difficult to fit?

Cheers for the input

You could try putting a good bit of grease in the corner right where you have circled then open and close it a few times, but with a gap that big the hinge corners have most likely worn down and need replacing
