Hi my house is a 1984 Barratt house detached with attached garage.
I would like to know if the wall between joining the house section to the garage is cavity or solid?
The house is two storey but the garage only one. I think the garage wall may not be cavity but then I wonder if the wall
elevation above the garage would have been built as a cavity wall? would they have used a steel beam across the garage wall and then built the cavity for the upper floor on that?

thanks

It's most likely a cavity wall, otherwise there would be a greater heat loss into the garage from a single skin wall.

As above, deffo cavity if it was done nowadays and it’d be a bit odd if it wasn’t. Easy to do a hole and check
