Garden pond construction

I am just about to start the digging of a pond which is a 2mtr by 3mtr rectangle which will be 1mtr below the ground and 0.5mtr above ground level unfortunately access to the garden is awkward so I was considering hollow block construction 215mm and then inserting rebar 1.5 mtr long and then filling with concrete, has anyone tried this method

I have not tried that way but did one this way before.

Are those blocks laid on there side and what footing depth did you dig

Yes and it was a super structure.

The footings wasn't much about 4"
