Hello,

I'm building a garden room to be used as a gym, there is already a concrete slab in place so I'm going to sit it onto that, trouble is the concrete slab isn't level as it has a fall for rainwater drain off.

How can I level the floor joists? I was intending to use off cuts of 6x2 treated timber as pads to raise the whole floor off the ground but that still doesn't get it level.

Any ideas appreciated

Cheers

I had already considered slate under the timber pads but am concerned that they might break over time due to impact/movement as there will be a treadmill etc.

Would a solid concrete block be the same? then I could sit a 100 x 100mm treated post onto the block on a piece of dpc then bolt through the post into the 6 x 2 joists

Why not shutter it and cast a new slab/thick screed on top.
