I want to replace my old gas cooker in my tenants house. I need to know what the regulations are with respect to:
a) how much distance must there be above the top of the cooker and the extractor fan/cabinets;
b) how much distance must there be between the sides of the cooker and the kitchen cabinets;
c) what the electrical regulations are with respect to old electrical outlets--their location with respect to the cooker, what counts as disconnection, etc;
d) where I might find the official information for the above online.

Any help would greatly be appreciated :!: Thanks very much!

I do not think diy gas instalations are allowed especially in rented accomodation, the regs are much stricter. I also know that there are more questions to consider than you have raised & would suggest you need a corgi approved installer to advise you. Can you not replace with like for like so that you do not have the same problems.

Thanks for your reply.

It is a rental house so far as I know it is within 'regulations' to use a gas cooker. A Corgi engineer was willing to install the new gas cooker if the electrics, space, etc met the regulations--which is why I am trying to find out
just what these are exactly. I've tried three times to get this information from Comet's installers with only partial success.

I found out today that flats are a special case and need Flame Supervision Devices (FSDs), but this restriction does not apply to houses.
