Don't laugh at me I have no idea what I am talking about, but I do need some advice.
My husband and I are planning to move to a property that is not connected to the gas mains...there is no mains gas in the area!

We have a dual fuel cooker, which I am not prepared to give up  , so I need to find a way that we can still use it in a property with no gas.

The solution, I understand is to use gas cylinders, however I have no idea how this can be done and absolutely no idea how much it would cost.

The kitchen backs onto the rear garden, so cylinders can safely be placed there, the cooker would be about 2 feet away from the exterior wall (if this is any help).

Is there anybody out there who could tell me:
a) if this is achievable, if so, how would a qualified bod do it?
b) a ball park figure in terms of cost

THE REGS OVER GAS CYLINDERS ARE VERY STRICT OVER INSTALATION AND POSITION SO I WOULD RECOMEND A SURVEY BY A LPG GAS INSTALLER. IS YOU DUAL COOKER NOW ON LPG?

first thing to do is find out if the cooker can be converted to lpg  then you can worry about the gas cly

Yes, I agree, I've had a great deal of trouble obtaining conversion kits to convert natural gas appliances to lpg. Mostly I have failed.

Some modern estates in lpg areas have a metered lpg supply.

If it's just for cooking you probably just want bottles. If you go for central heating (though I believe oil is cheaper at the moment, you can't rely on a status quo) you would want bulk storage.

You definately need some poor guy to come and put a lot of effort into working out what you need, then just get some Poles in to do the work.

Ask the maker if its convertible.

If so how much the conversion kit costs.

About £140 to convery perhaps and perhaps another £300 to set up the bottles and an auto changeover switch and the pipework etc.
