Gas Fire Flue Height

Hi,

We are thinking of installing a gas fire and would opt for a top exit flue that would run up to just below ceiling height and then exit through an outside wall.

I understand a cage it required to the flue exit if it is under a certain height however we are trying to avoid a cage if possible so does anyone know what is the minimum required height the flue must be?

I've ready many different articles that range from 1.8m-2.6m so not sure which is required to meet building regs.

Not so sure you will get a fire that you can flue like that , might do , I have never seen one
