It depends on the fire, the better ones can be 70% efficient but the 80 quid ones from B&Q aren't even classed as heating appliances, they are for decoration... Assuming that you have a boiler to connect it to, then I'd go for the radiator

Fit Both because there is lot of times when you wont want the whole heating on just the fire to take chill out the room
