Gas/Oil/Electrical

I hope you realise that all your posting in old Imperial units is almost a foreign language over here.

We use kW and mm etc.

We still use yards and miles outdoors but everything else is in metric.

Sooner we get rid of those old units the better! A MEN to that

Tony

PS Raden is NOT registered with CORGI because he does not work with gas.
THANK GOD as he should NOT even be allowed to light a pilot light.

Gas fitting is complex and thus it would be fitting not to allow some to even get a wiff of education RE gasfitting /medical gases etc

Be back in an hour or so I just bought a S&W 38 and cant wait to go target shooting down the road a piece (hollow point ammo of course (Federal hydrashock

F*** 0Off and shoot yerself in the foot, after all it won't be a new experience will it :?:

We gauge vehicle economy in miles per gallon.
We drink pints of beer.
We weigh ourselves in stones and pounds.
We weigh the steaks we eat in ounces.
We measure our height in feet and inches.
We measure heat output in Btus.

You may do but I dont!

I measure fuel consumption in miles per litre.
I buy my fuel in litres ! ( Sure you do too )
I weigh 85 kG ( Yes, its too much! )
I eat whatever steak I am given without complaining!
I measure my height in metres and thats whats quoted in my passport, about 1.725m
I measure all heating powers in kW.
I am charged for power in kW too.

Oh I'd love to see your justification for that action, M11.

How is it anything other than a lie to claim "old Imperial units is almost a foreign language over here"?

If you think your view is the only important one, then so be it, but it's misleading to use the words "over here", as if it's commonplace for everyone in the country. - - -

Sorry I missed the beer!

Yes, I would have to buy a pint in a pub but I would prefer a 1/2 litre. beer in the shops is sold in metric volumes.

I also buy my wine in 750 ml or 1 litre bottles! ( Even british wine ).

I would buy lemonade in 2 litre bottles and Flora in 400g packs. Milk in metric volumes etc. Virtually everything apart from pints of beer in a pub are sold in metric units in the UK.

I cannot even think of anything I can buy ( apart from in a pub ) which is not sold in metric units.

The UK became decimalised in 1971 which is 37 years ago !
