Gas Underfloor heating....opinions?

you can do a quick response system - pipes in 30-40mm of screed at 100 centres. mine's floorboards on joists with the screed on insulation inbetween the joists.
you would have to do insulation between battens fixed to the slab (you need about 100mm to minimise heatloss downwards) screed to top of battens with pipes in. floorboards or similar over the top. this will probably raise the floor too much for practicality.

Just don't turn it up too high or you'll be doing the 'cat on a hot tin roof' dance every morning...
yes - flow temp 35-40 degrees

Apologies for interrupting all the eulogies about Wearside :), perhaps I could reply to the original question.

UFH (water) is unlikely to give you more than 100W/m2 so if you need more than than that, forget it or use an additional heat-source.

Since so many other ideas have been floated, perhaps you need to look at everything and return later,

Paul, sorry to digress, but I noticed in one of your profile photos a nifty angled drill attachment, is it very good & robust. Would you recommend it, if so please post up a link for the product, if you have one??
Thanks
Tricky

I just broke it the other day.

I got it on ebay for £12 and it was very strong. I used it mainly for the burner box of Ideal Isar and Icos, and also for the screws in sides of gas fires when they are set back shrouded by stone or brick monstrosities.

All angle attachments have a weakness in the gearing which snaps if you drill to difficult a job. So they are something you have to keep re-buying. That one lasted 6 months used every working day 4 or 5 times a day, and the time saving on Ideal boilers alone was enormous, but more importantly it prevents you geting in a bad mood over having to do the job..

Thanks Paul, but I think I'll survive with my tiny socket set that I bought from the Pound Shop!
Tricky Dicky....
