I am looking to have large bifolds fitted, 6 times 1.3m wide 2.6m high, one supplier says 6mm and 4mm glass the other said anything over 2.x?m2 of glass requires 6mm inside and out? Price difference considerable, gooogled but cant find an answer.

I'm guessing this isn't new build? If not then providing it's a safety glass then there is no legal requirement 6mm tough glass HOWEvER.... normally any sealed unit manufacturer will use 6mm tough when both width and height are over 1300mm, so in the case of yours I'd expect it to be 6mm tough glass on BOTH panes, which would make each unit weigh approx 101kg.
It will come down to what the actual sealed unit manufacturer will manufacture, and still give you a warranty and not sign any disclaimers
