Afternoon all,

Got a glow worm betacom 24 (i think) fitted, which is literally a year old. Over the last few months I have had to top the system up on a weekly basis due to losing pressure.

The boiler is always topped up to 1 bar, and over the course of a week or so it drops down about half a bar, usually so that it won't kick in. I have checked all visible pipes on the boiler and CH and no sign of a leak.

The PRV isn't dripping from what I can see, and to be honest it shouldn't be as the system has never been over-pressurised to warrant it opening.

just before this started we had a spirotech fitted, as we couldn't afford to get one when it was originally fitted so it seems a bit of a coincidence. Prior to that, over the course of last winter and over the summer the boiler has kept a steady pressure.

I have checked all the fittings around the spirotech just in case they were leaking, which they weren't, and underneath the boiler there are no signs of water.

I have topped it back up this afternoon as it was down to 0.5 bar and I am going to check to see if it drops with the heating not being used but still having hot water for showers/baths.

If the pressure drops due to:

a) heating off, but hot water ok, what would this indicate?
b) heating and hot water not used (i.e over night)

If i were to turn off the cold water feed into the boiler and monitored it, what would it tell me if the pressure still dropped or didn't drop?
