We have had the heating drained down to take the rads off down stairs for D P C. The rads are back on and filled up the problem is the heating fires up runs for a bit and then shuts off. When the heating is of and you look in the boiler the burner is still lit. this also happens when all the the power to the boiler is turned off.

Is the gas valve bust.

It lights but goes off. It's still lit.
Sorry don't understand. Do you mean the pilot light?

Your boiler's fine, the pilot light will quite happily stay lit while the power's off. What we need to know is how long is the boiler staying lit for and are the radiators getting up to temperature before the boiler cuts off?
