i thought it was a bit unlikely he does not know the colour code.
i assume that whoever can give him the value will get it from the code as you can not measure the resistor when it is on the board
i take it you mean you can see on the board it does not have any possible connections parallel?
suppose that if it is 1 ohm, parallel paths do not matter that much.
you will need pretty expensive tester to measure that acurately though. your average multimeter would not be good enough i reckon. megger job more like it.
What's it in series with?
If a relay, what's the operating voltage marked on that?
Should be easy to work out about what the dropper resistance would be.
Not quite so easy to follow and as its in a customer's house not really possible at all!
The effect of the fault is that the pump relay only has 11v instead of 24! But I cannot confirm the relationship between the resistor and the relay supply.
