Am new to this diy site but nephew recommended it. My central htg boiler as above can flash up but then gives 'bangs' from the boiler area then gas will cut out. I suspect pump, but before i phone a corgi bloke want to have an idea of what the problem is and relative prices of pump if that is the problem. (dont't want to get ripped off)!
I wouldnt attempt to replace anything myself by the way.

when you put the boiler on if the boiler starts to sound like a kettle then hisses and bangs i would say that the pump is at fault you can check this yourself by releasing the screw on the top of the pump and see if the shaft turns if not that is your problem also could be blockage or wireing but i would check the pump first
expect to pay about £90 to £140 depending on difficulty
 
i need more detail than 'my boiler' make model and system type are reqd.

i'd be surprised if a boiler gave a flash bang when igniting. id suggest you get a pro in.. this not not for a diyer.

CAN U READ OR WHAT? who mentioned a 'flash bang'? plus details of boiler i.e. make and model ARE posted. Thanks but no thanks for your input.
