When Israel occupied East Jerusalem the Arab inhabitants were offered Israeli citizenship, but most declined. They have no rights nor votes in Israel.

Only 3% of Arabs are over 65, compared to 12% for Jews.
There is a similar disparity in the average age of Arabs and Jews.
Predominantly Arab areas in Israel have fewer amenities, and less protection than the Israeli Jews enjoy.
