I'm having a handmade sink unit delivered tomorrow, but without a top as our last sink worktop, from IKEA, went mouldy and warped horrendously so my husband says 'never again'. Instead of wood we've been advised to use granite, which the joiner can't provide, preferably black for the decor, but quartz also seems to be an option. However, granite is very expensive (though a lot of the cost is for the cut-outs, grooves and polishing) and I can't see any evidence that quartz is any cheaper. There are loads of companies out there and I don't know where to start. Any advice?
