Hi, this is my first posting, so go easy on me
I had fitted, in 2008, a Grant Vortex 36/46 utility oil fired condensing boiler. I took out a 5 year warranty on it. It has just decided to spring a leak from the water jacket [ I think that's what you would call it...] And sure enough, the warranty has expired.
My boiler isn't a system one, i.e its vented and has the feed tank in the loft. But, I have been offered a fairly new system boiler, same make and size.
Should I/Could I swap the water jacket out, or, simply fit this system boiler and ditch the loft tank?
What other changes would be required, i.e pump removal? bridge the pump joint?? [ I'm assuming this system boiler uses an integral pump?]
My HWC is also unvented, I take it that that will still work just the same?
And yes, I shall power-flush the system before the other boiler [or jacket] goes in, and do it again a week or two afterward
Lots of questions, sorry, but I need to be sure... Thank you in anticipation.
