Does anyone know anything about council grants for building work?
Does it apply just to OAP's or council houses?

Ive got a house that was built in the 20's i think, that i rent out. I'm looking to do a major overhaul, double glazed windows, central heating, full rewire, re-decorate the whole house, Properly insulate the loft ( as theres currently just 20mm), new kitchen & bathroom

To get someone in to do it will cost about 25k, quite a big lump of money!! So if i can get grants for some if it then itll help my wallet out big time

I had grants for my 1902 property and I think it's only applied to pre-war properties, I don't know what the latest rules are now, best to give the BCO a ring for the latest details.

Grants are generally for those in need, and not to help people out with commercial renting.

In any case, each LA will have differing schemes so check with yours
