My girl plays football Saturday and covers another team on Sunday.

Her game was called off yesterday because of a waterlogged pitch.

Today's game called off as the pitch was frozen.

Being that we have two of the richest leagues in world football is it not time they pump more money into grassroots and for us not to follow suit in playing when the weather is at its worst, as the pitches are just not up to it?

Rent an astro pitch?

Remember top tier footie in the 1970's

Good luck.

There just aren't enough of them: that's why 9 yr-old kids have to train at 9pm in the winter - regardless of the time of year; they should be in bed at that time - because there are so few slots available.

No wonder fitness is so dreadful in the UK: the lack of publicly-available facilities is shocking.

And before you say "running is free", we're talking about kids' football practice.
Which needs a field, and floodlighting if you have to train out-of-hours (which they have to, due to the paucity of pitches).

Premier league footballers have to survive on £200k per week. Where will the money come from?

Some have 2nd jobs. Some get their wife's to work.

The English lads are ok as they have family to look after the kids.

Nothing worse than having to say to the manager "I cant play Saturday as we have no one to look after the kids."

Its tough for them .
