Greenstar cdi heating problem

Could someone please tell me why my gas central heating is randomly coming on when the rf programmer is switched off. this mainly occurs overnight. The boiler is fitted in the garage.Is this an automatic protection in cold weather. I have only noticed it switching on recently.

Yes, this is indeed the anti freeze system doing it's job.
