Well I am so confident that I would post a small but sufficient sample of sulphonic acid to the OP for free if it did not solve the problem BUT subject to a £5 payment if it did solve it, providing it was used correctly.
Of course I dont know what the problem is as I have not seen the boiler but it is the most likely cause based on my experience and relying on the description of the problem.
