I've removed a path and clearing an area that was covered in wood chippings and plants. I have a pile of sand and some soil. Can i mix these for the grass seed? Or should i use just soil?

I do need to raise the area a bit to match existing lawn, so if sandy soil ok that would help.

Personally I wouldn't - sand in soil can be a problem - it doesn't hold water or nutrients very well. You could well find yourself watering & feeding the grass a lot in the summer.

thanks, will leave it out.
