Grout Removal

Please could I ask for some advice on the best way to remove this stubborn grout from my toilet floor?

Wickes do a good long handled floor scraper, but remove and replace the hardboard underlay for a flat base if you are retiling

My initial plan is to scrape up as much as I can and then self level the floor, would this work?

Are you sure this would be hardboard floor underneath and not concrete? I wouldn’t have a clue! If it is hardboard, what’s the best way to uplift this?

What type of floor would you say this is?

Bitumen?
Concrete?
Anything else?
