Ok I bought Secratariat the Disney film watched it and enjoyed it .......
So then I went on Google and watched the real Belmont stakes film of secratariat ........what a horse what a race ...... watching various documentary clips people have been moved so much by the performance quite extraordinary............a record that still stands.
Jack Nicklaus admitted to been in a hotel room alone watching the race with tears streaming down his face.
During the race the jockey eventually looked behind saw the lead and admitted at that point to been scared there's an image of that.
You can clearly see near the end of the race the horse is still accelerating away from the horses behind.
If fact the second place jokey said he'd won the race because he was in front of every other horse he could see !
The ultimate athlete .........bar none.
