We've got a 112mm half round gutter on the side of the house. This terminates with a running outlet and stopend at the point where a valley joins the party (from the top left in the attached photo). In heavy rain the water flowing down the valley runs with so much force and speed that it flows over the ridge on the pan tile and then just overshoots the gutter. I don't think dressing the lead into the pantile channel will make much difference because the water flows quite fast.
My thought is to fit a hopper to the left end of the fascia (where the existing running outlet is fixed) and move the existing running outlet so that the stopend sits against the hopper, with right side of the hopper and stopend positioned under one of the ridges of the pan tiles. I'll then place a 112.5 degree branch on the downpipe to run both the running outlet and hopper outlet into the existing downpipe.
Does this seem like a reasonable solution? I'd be very happy to hear any ideas for an alternative.
Many thanks.
