I have just stripped off tiles from my bathroom and found that my walls are constructed from Gypsum blocks which are very dry and soft, removing the tiles has taken off lots of the top coat of plaster and the rest is loose, what should i do, patch up or strip off top coat and replaster if so what sort of plaster should i use, any help would be most welcolm

Never heard of gypsum blocks! aerated, thermolite etc.

Anyway remove all the loose finish, give a coat of pva let dry overnight, next day another coat of pva let it go tacky then use multi finish finish.
