what should happen to hackers, like the one that broke into the U.S.A. DEFENCE, computer, or the ones that give your bank details to croocks, the yanks want this guy send to stand trial in the U.S.A.. ARE THEY HARMLESS OR DANGEROUS.

Heard some radio discussion on the US defence computer hack today. I think the guys defence is that he was looking for information to prove UFO existence and when found he would release it to the world.
Regardless of his true motives he has committed a criminal act and in my view should be accountable for his actions. He should stand trial - either here or the US. He should be sentenced to work for the US defence service to show them how "c**p" their security is and allow them to block up the holes that allowed him to gain entry.
As to the ones that steal your bank details with the intention of selling them on to others - they are criminals and should be treated as such.

This guy broke into a computer with the intention of taking something which didn't belong to him ... No different from breaking into a shop and stealing a TV.

He can either stand trial here and be treated lawfully of he can be sent to stand trial in the security paranoid US where they will torture a confession out of him (accepting responsibility for everything since the demise of the dinosaur), chop off his balls (just for good measure) and throw him in a jail to spend the rest of his days playing leapfrog with lifers.

well yes it is indeed, its a fictional character... ho hum
anyway solo where are you? or are you on your plane to yankee doodle land already???
The issue here is the one-way extradition policy which the yanks have imposed on the UK, and the fact that the "land of the free" has an appalling human rights record. So we hand over a "computer nerd" to some uncertain treatment and future and all for something which has caused the US absolutely no harm at all.
