Please help im freezing my bits off


im having problems with my boiler lighting its going through the process but is just not firing its reaalllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyy frustrating as its so cold at night please help

have a booklet but its not very helpful cant work out what to try im not an engineer and cant really afford to get one out so please help.[/b][/i]

sorry lor but. A i DONT DRINK. b I HAVE A BABY ON THE WAY so cant really afford to pay riduculus prices that engineers charge plus parts

You could ask BG to come out and fix, if you take out their boiler repair plan (£12 a month or so I think) then they will add the price of the initial repair bill to your first years premiums so you would in effect be paying the repair over 12 months interest free. I seem to remember they do a fixed price deal for the initial repair as well...£120-150 rings a bell...so maybe it will cost around £22 for the first 12 months.

Just be careful what you subscribe to i.e. if you just want the boiler covered then stick to your guns as they do try and talk you into pipework, drains etc...cover plans.

I hear Domestic and General do a similar service so you could compare.

I'm no expert but is it possible the gas supply has maybe become turned off to the boiler ? Do you have other gas appliances working ok ?

Basic checks I know but may help.
