Hi all,

My boiler has been having the same water going cold in mid shower problem for a good few months, I've called Swalec out on their insurance at lease 6 times to fix it but it seems to improve for a while and then revert to form.

But I've discovered in my desperation to find the cause, that if I wiggle a particular wire attached to the circuit board, the switch pin thingy instantly engages and the boiler fires for hot water again and it's ok for a few days.

Can I conclude that it is indeed a loose wire and that it needs a new circuit board?, should I tell the Swalec engineers that this is the problem?, will they tell me off for wiggling their wires?
cheers, Jon

I dont normally recommend this but perhaps you should tell them:-

You have not touched the boiler insides.

But you did get your friend who is a plumber to have a look and thats what HE found!

The Halstead PCBs are very prone to solder joint failure.
