Hello

I recently moved into a house which has been fitted with a Halstead Ace Gas Combi Boiler, which is a Wickes product I believe.

The boiler has developed a fault, where water is slowly dripping from the outside overflow, and so the pressure gradually drops until the boiler will not fire up anymore (until I top up the water pressure). I believe the pressure release valve needs to be be replaced.

Please could someone tell me a rough estimate for an engineer to replace this valve so I know if I'm getting a good deal?

Does the Halstead Ace have a good reputation as a reliable boiler?

Thanks for your advice :)

Parts are about £15

Make sure the vessel is checked as well. Its uncommon for the valves to just start letting by for no reason.

Takes 20 mins to change the valve and recharge the vessel if needed.
