Halstead Boiler Lockout

Not a major problem, just an irritant really. When the boiler has not been used for a while when there is a demand for CH or DHW the boiler will go to fire up and start whirring away but you can hear that the gas doesnt get lit within the combustion chamber, sometimes after 1 reset it works fine but then it could be 4 or 5 resets.

Any suggestions?

Halstad Ace combi boiler - recently changed Diaphragm in divertor valve and auto air vent (each one was knacked and required changing) also had a service in which the venturi was cleaned.

Could the sparker have gone within the combustion chamber? The guy who serviced it said it looked ok and cleaned it.

A common problenm with Halstead combi's. If its not been used for a while the gas valve has a habit of sticking.

Are you sure the venturi was properly cleaned out???

He removed the fan and the venturi and showed me it was clear.

If it is the gas valve sticking will it get progressively worse? Boiler is 6 years old.
