Hi everyone,
just found this forum whilst looking for help for my boiler. Anyway yesterday (Xmas day) the boiler went onto lockout mode, I traced the fault back to the fan (it just hummed and was not turning). Not a problem to change but was wandering how much a new fan unit would be, by the way the boiler is a Halstead Finest Gold.
thank's for any help Terry

Fitting fans isn't a diy job, so add fitting.

Fans on Halsteads can be more awkward than others. For some reason they are riveted on instead of screwed.

They supply you with 3 new rivets with the fan but unless you have the tool to fit these it is a pain.

I always forget the rivets, drill old ones, out and use self tappers on the new fan. Even Halstead advise this

Try some 3 and 1 oil down the shaft by windings it may free it doesn`t always work but worth a try

I think the same fan is used in other makes of boiler where the spares would be cheaper. But you would need them side by side to compare.

I thought the Jaguar fan looked the same as the Ideal Mini. When I placed them side by side they were the same but the opposite mirror image configuration. The brain does not remember that aspect so well.
