I have been having problems with my Halstead HE having to top it up for months, engineer can't find a leak. But repressurized the expansion vessel. Serviced it. About two months ago.
The latest problem has happened twice in two weeks.
I turned the hot tap on whilst the washing machine was filling up - the second time it happened the toilet was flushing, there was a big rumble noise and the boiler flashed number 2 - stopping producing hot water.
The first time this happened I turned the boiler off at the wall and it started up again normally. The second time it took a while for me to keep doing this before it fired up for more than a second then ran normally again.
Is this an ignition problem or a lack of water supply? Thank you.
