Bamber gaspipe

Still looking for posts in connection with these pile of sh*t boilers, any experiences/thoughts etc, will be gratefully received :D

Quite a lot of Halstead's fitted in Scarborough because City Plumbing try to push them. I fitted one in the pre he days, no complaints.

I've been to a few of the older style ones to repair them, shocking parts prices but no specific weaknesses in the design.

The HE stuff seems to use the generic gianoni heat ex which cetain bigger names used to get started. Can it be a bd one?

All British made (so CP state). Can it be a bad thing to support British companies employing British workers? Or shall we just give up manufacturing all together and sell double glazing to each other.

I did once read economics at Hull, but I'm rusty now. However I struggle to see a future free of mass poverty for our nation and wealth for the Chinease (if not wold domination by their philosophy).

So what's all this about knocking a British company? Have you a personal axe to grind? What is it? Did you once buy one boiler and have one problem with it?

I do not have an axe to grind.I was merely asking for someone`s opinion on a boiler unfamilliar to me as an installer. You obviously have a knowledge of this particular boiler & I was only trying to seek your advice. If it came across in any other way, then I apologise.

No more problems with Halsteads than any other manufacturers. I've done some of the Eden condensers and apart from the wiring and gas connections a bit fiddley the boiler is quiet as a mouse. Plenty of flueing options too but they are expensive for spares. The combi HE's I have'nt done yet but have done plenty on the Ace, Hi, finest gold over the years and they seem Ok.

No problem Bamber.

I don't really have much experience of them. I was talking to a guy at the merchants who has fitted plenty and had no problems, all the ones fitted round here are working so well only a few of us have been out to them for repairs, and then it's never been anything any worse than you might find when you went to a linea or 105e. Seems a good cooking manufacturer.

Need to find out which other manufacturers parts fit though. I think someoine here said one of the ariston dv's fits. Essential to find out whose thermisters they use, 'cause they want 25 squidly diddly's each for them! Somewhere in the sweepings of my van there are two!
