handle spins round

Hi, need some help please. The handle on my upvc door just spins round and won't let me open the door. the top half doesn't seem to be locked but the bottom half is still locked, so now I can't open the door. Any ideas on getting it open and then will i have to replace the lock? Thanks in advance.
