Hard drive data recovery

Hello

I've been told my laptop hard drive has a mechanical fault.

I need to send it to a company that can retrieve data from hard drives that are broken.

Can anyone recommend a company and does anyone know how much this cost????

I had a new hard drive fitted a few months ago due to hard drive failure and computer wouldn't load nothing cost me £150.
new hard drive
90 percent of data was recovered from old hard drive only saved music i failed to get back, but not a problem, all pics, all work invoices, short cuts etc got retreived.
Computer all set back up and new anti virus.

A friend of mine who is a computer engineer.
He lives in basildon essex if thats any help to you.

I have sent it off for a free diagnosis now I'll see what they come back with.

I'm in Romford so thats ok, did your drive have a mechanical fault??

I don't know much about computer working etc.
All i know is on start up i got the BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) so they call it.
Wouldn't load a thing not even windows start up.

Phoned him he told me straight away on phone hard drive.

Yeah I've heard off that, I think yours might have been a software problem where as mine seems to be a mechanical problem where they have to physically fix the hard drive first then try and retrieve the data.

I'll see what they say and let you know thanks for the replies.
