Has the garage Nackered me threads?

Got new tyres the other day and they had supertightned the road wheel bolts.
I have since re-tightned them with a torqe wrench, (after having to use a pipe on the end of my wheel brace to slacken em) but now, some of them "judder" instead of tightening smoothley. the threads look a bit worn with the occasional small notch out of the top of the thread here n there.

Not uncommon for bolts to judder under the force of a torque wrench, but equally common for the mssing links in tyre centres to screw up even the simplest of their tasks.
